I received my monthly subscriptions from Brutus Monroe over the last few days! I had to finish up organizing one of my drawers of stamps. I am cataloging each set in AIRTABLE. That is a story for a separate post. Today i want to share some images of the card i made with a few product from Brutus Monroe, Simon Says Stamps, Maymay made it, and copic. This is Brutus Monroe glitter paste on bristol card stock This is the same product on mixed media kraft paper  I pick up at Micheal’s I actually bought it for practicing my drawing. A virtual class i am taking with Sandy Allnock. This example is the two different bases, but the same colors of Glitter glaze. Here is a picture of what the final product looks like: The stencil & embossing powder current stencil, and embossing powder of the month from Brutus Monroe  The stamp set is from simon says stamp and the glue is from Maymay made it!  One of my favorite things with this card is coloring on kraft

Kits, subscriptions, one offs...my experiences with some..of these boxes filled with crafty goodies

I wait impatiently for my monthly subscriptions to come in the mail..It is like a special gift just for me doing my daily routines and responsiblies.  I currently get HERO ARTS, MAYMAY, & BRUTUS MONRO each are very different subscriptions but all crafting items. Hero Arts is a complete kit it typically has Stamps/dies, paper, ink(sometimes) and sometimes something special, the price is great for what we get..i think 34.99 shipped. Maymay i get just the regular monthly 4x6 stamp set, for 11.99 which is a savings of a dollar if you were just purchasing it from the store. That price includes shipping cost.  Maymay has a scripture stamp subscription as well. I just choose to not order that one. Brutus Monroe i have 4 items i subscribe to embossing powder, glitter glaze, stencil, and aqua pigment these are all monthly products.. all 4 items cost 34.00. They have other subscription products but these are the products i choose to order. Maymay and Brutus Monroe both have reward pr

Last night while watching one of my favorite you tube card artist.. https://acarddayswork.wordpress.com/   her name is Jess...her you tube channel is A Card’s Day Work.. while watching she said she was going to do a challenge and I suggested i would do it with her.  After everyone chimed in we decided to do a double challenge over at My Favorite Things Stamps...they have a few challenges...we chose to combine the color challenge and the sketch challenge. I have a half hour to get it in. I will have to come back and edit my post here but for now here is a photo. Ok now that i have shared the photo i can post the appropriate links if you are interested in the primary products I have use.  I am just going to post for the stamps and the embossing powder and a link for the contests in case you are interested.   The contest is not base on the quality of your work.  It is a random drawing. Here is the link for the Challenges on the MFT Stamps site.   http://www.cardchallenges.com/

Sympathy for furry friends

Image
I am a lover of animals, they love unconditionally! When we lose one it can rip a section from our hearts. Here you will see a version of a sympathy card I created for my MIL. She recently lost her 14 year old cat... I watched this woman who always had dogs over the years i have known her, get this cat and insist that it sleep downstairs. Well Bubba wouldn’t have that he worked on her every night. Sneaking stairs trying to sleep with her.  When she moved to NC a few years ago she started to let him sleep with her.  It is at this point i feel she truly fell in love with him. He would come up and snuggle next to her, she got use to his companionship and looked forward to him coming to snuggle every night.  Sadly he became sick and started to lose weight...she tried feeding him a special diet. Recently he stopped eating and drinking so she brought him to he vets where she found out it was time. Bubba is being cremated and then being brought home to ny to be buried wit

Lots of love lawnfanatics challenge

Hi everyone, now that the craziness of the holidays have come and gone ....I am setting my sites on being more visible with my crafting crazyness.  Trying new things For example entering challenges like the one below,    This one is for LAWN FAWNS CHALLENGE CALLED Lots of Love          I decided that I would challenge myself and not use a valentines stamp set as the main feature, on the card.  If you can see there are 4 different lawn fawn sets and their inks for the background and the hearts.  I truly enjoyed working with everything and pushing myself to use an easter set to make this card. I hope you enjoy this card. Have a great week! https://www.lawnfawn.com/collections/holidays/products/celebration-scripty-sayings https://www.lawnfawn.com/collections/holidays/products/chirpy-chirp-chirp https://www.lawnfawn.com/products/gingham-backdrops https://www.lawnfawn.com/products/sprinkled-with-joy https://www.lawnfawn.com/search?type=product&q=Inks Here you can see

Marker Storage

MARKER STORAGE...NOT JUST FOR MONEY SAVING BUT FOR THAT PRECIOUS SPACE ON OUR WORK SURFACE. Lets face it we just don't ever seem to have enough work space when we craft.  Constantly shuffling our all important supplies around to fit our needs.... I have had no craft room most of my life, sometimes I was lucky enough to share a room with our guest sleeping quarters.  Now I have my own space and for what ever reason i can't seem to get it exactly they way it works best for me.  That could be because I am forever adding new treasures to my space.... This post is not about showing you my space but saving space by making something to hold more of my markers then the commercial products will hold...I MEAN COME ON FOLKS WE ARE CRAFTERS...do you really think we are going to have just 20 markers....I don't think so... Here is a photo of my finished marker storage..... This is currently holding 191 water color markers Let me see if I can get explain how I did this,

Hi everyone, Its been so long since I last posted here.  I have so much to share.  Where to start is the question. We have done so many things in the past year.... In July we had a big birthday party for my husbands 49th birthday and 4th of july!  Shortly after that we adopted 2 more fur babies kittens!  Sister and Brother...Genny is the little girl and Jack is the little boy. They are named after booze...LOL...Genesee Beer, something my husband and I drank when we were much younger like teenagers...yes we were under age.   Jack is named after Jack Daniels.   We started naming our animals after food and alcohol after our second family pet.  Keith and I have been married 29 years,  hard to believe!  Currently we have 8 animals....named  Coconut, Kiki she was named this when we got her at the age of 5 so we made the choice not to change it.  Ok back to the other animal names.  Switchback, Rubi, Raindrop, Guinness.  That is 4 dogs and 4 cats... here are a few photos of my fur babies:
